Productivity Hacks To Get The Most Out Of LifešŸ“ššŸ“Œ

"It's been a tough day", I say to myself as I slowly sink into the bed, wanting more than anything to hide under the covers and continue cursing the person who invented MONDAY. I wake up the next morning, tired, dejected, and not at all in the least bit motivated to get out of bed because I know that as soon as I do that...Tuesday will unleash its wrath on me.

I'm sure most of us would have gone through this scenario ourselves. We're busy with our routines the whole day, wishing it could all just stop for a second. But when someone asks us, why are you so busy nowadays, our simple reply is, "I'm not busy, I'm being productive." Believe me, there's a fine line between being productive and being busy. When you're caught up in your work all day, then after some time you just start getting bored and burn out. But what if there's a way to take this feeling of uselessness and convert it into something positive; something that makes you jump out of bed every morning with a fresh smile on your face?

Well, that is productivity right there. It's the little inconsequential things that you do that manage to fool your brain into working more effectively and constructively. So here are a few productive tips and tricks that you can inculcate into your lifestyle to make the most out of your dayšŸ˜‰

1)Wake up early in the morning...and FINISH your hardest task

Now just for clarification, early DOES NOT mean 9 am! Waking up early refers to the process of dragging yourself out of bed AND brushing your teeth before 7 am. One of the main advantages of waking up early is that this is the time when you're mind is at its best. Finishing your most challenging job in the morning itself is a great way to prepare yourself for the upcoming day so that you are not only happy but also have a huge weight off of your shoulders. But yes, once you've started, don't dare leave it halfway, otherwise, most probably you won't be in the mood to complete it later!

2)Plan your day the night before

Choosing your clothes, emailing that one colleague before going to work...don't you realize how much time all this takes up?! Wouldn't it be much simpler if you'd just choose your clothes the night before, or write the email before going to bed? On top of that, you're disoriented and in a hurry, with no idea of what you should do next. So before going to bed, just remind yourself. One effective way to do that is to, of course, put a reminder on your phone. But for those who are not so tech-savvy, you can try using Sticky Notes. Need to polish your shoes in the morning? Stick a note on the door so you see it before going off to work. Need to put your clothes in the washing machine? Stick a note on the bathroom door. This way, everything gets done when it needs to be and you know how you're gonna do it and when you're gonna do it!šŸ˜€

"Morning is wonderful. Its only drawback is that it comes at such an inconvenient time of day." - Glenn Cook

3)Don't make a to-do list, make a time management list

After a point, I've observed or rather experienced that to-do lists stop working. Rather than motivating me to finish my tasks, they just discourage me to give up altogether 'cause all I see is a long list of work that needs to be done. To prevent that, you don't need to schedule your priorities, but you need to prioritize your schedule. If you think morning is the time when you're at your best then keep the hardest stuff for then. If you feel like you're quite tired by afternoon then leave the easier jobs for that time. This way, you'll not only be able to manage your time and stop procrastinating but also manage your priorities accordingly.

4)Change your workplace

When I say change your workplace I don't mean that you should go and hijack a random stranger's house and declare it your official workplace from now onwardsšŸ˜œ

What I mean is that we as humans get bored if we're stuck in one place for a long time. Changing your workplace will not only give you a much-required change of atmosphere but it'll also make you feel as if you're doing something new when in reality you're just doing the same thing at a different place. Another thing that I've experienced is that when we change something from our daily routine then time tends to fly faster, which believe me, is a BIG BONUS.

That's why my brother keeps whining about how I've hijacked every table in the house and declared it as my study tablešŸ˜‚

5)Carry a notebook with you at all times

I started doing this in April, and trust me, it's been a COLOSSAL help. Anything you need to remember, just jot it down. This way your brain won't need to waste any energy on remembering every small task daily. This is also very helpful for people who get their best ideas at random places for example while taking a walk or sleeping in the classroom. Keeping a notebook handy is the best way to ensure that you never forget those little things like your WiFi password or the project that you're supposed to bring next week and stuff like that. It's bound to make your life easieršŸ˜ƒ

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Always remember, in this life, you walk on a different road from others. But for that, it's you yourself who needs to take the first step, and the second one, and the third one till the time you reach the end of the entire freaking road! Your friends and family can only push you to some extent and guide you in your journey, but they will never take your hand and walk with you every step of the way. At some point, you need to wake up from your slumber and face the harsh reality, and the longer you procrastinate the more will be the price. So get up and get going because once you decide you wanna do something, no one in this world can stop you. And as rightly said by the author Stephen King - "Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work."
