Food Fiesta!!

Burgers, ice creams, brownies, pizzas, Oreo smoothies, French fries and waffles!! Just thinking about them makes my mouth water😭. Who doesn't like all these stuff...but then what's the point of exercising if we keep eating them...then it's all a big waste of time!! Today we are going to talk about how to eat right, to eat healthy but tasty, 'cause to maintain fit, a healthy and nutritious diet is a must. So, scroll down and enjoy :)

The Boss - Mrs. Breakfast

Specialists say that breakfast, which is the most important meal of the day, should be fulfilling, carbohydrate filled and nutritious. It should also be delicious, as a yummy breakfast ensures happiness for the rest of your day😁! Carbohydrates and fats are really important to be a part of your morning meal as they provide energy and are sure to be burned by your body throughout the day. Breakfast should usually be consumed within 30-60 mins of waking up, because a late breakfast is sure to make you sleepy. If you skip this indispensable meal of the day then you are gonna end up eating unhealthy foods as your body will be looking for carbohydrates and fats. For the people who are short on time, small recipes like omelets, French toasts or Cornflakes/Granola are the best. Given below is a link of how to make some of the tastiest breakfast recipes I have EVER seen 😋

The Assistant - Mr. Lunch

Between breakfast and lunch, there should be a minimum gap of about 4-5 hrs. This ensures proper digestion of your morning meal. If you have work or other classes then you can easily grab a small snack such as protein bars, yogurts, PB&J or sandwiches in between. Your lunch should mostly consist of proteins such as pulses, chicken, egg etc. A good salad full of green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, onions and olives is a very good option. A Mediterranean egg sandwich is not a bad choice either. For our foody Indians down there, two bowls of dal with sabzi is the best option 😍!

The Carefree Employee - Ms. Dinner

Dinner should be the TOTAL opposite of breakfast. It should be light and easily digestible. Dinner should usually be consumed before 10p.m for better digestion. Going on a walk (after dinner), or stretching before bed is also advisable. Dinner options could be a bowl of fruits which I guarantee would be very fruitful (pun intended 🤩). Chicken sausages or a tofu wrap is also a great and delicious alternative. Remember, dinner should be the smallest and lightest meal of the day, but that doesn't mean you can't make it special!!

Oh Dear Cravings - Please stop!!

No, no! Don't stop your cravings! Your beautiful yet nasty cravings help you in discovering new recipes and keeps you interested and determined to maintain your regime. What's the use of exercising if you can't eat junk food??? Once in a while...it's fine, don't sweat it! But, you should also know when to stop, that's the most important part - to limit yourself. If you can't at first, it's fine...everything takes a little time and perseverance...just don't give up altogether! Remember when I talked about rewards in my first # FIT NATION post? You can do exactly that! Eat a delicious brownie or a yummy pizza once in two weeks or so. This will reduce the guilt you feel after eating a donut and at the same time suppress those cravings! Looks like your food cravings are actually a blessing in disguise😂!!

Eating Before and After a Workout

If you don't eat at least 2-3 hrs. before a workout then your body will burn all the stored fat and carbohydrates. To some extent it is good, but it may decrease your stamina AND you will also not be able to say no to those "fat cravings" after the workout. Some snacks to eat before workouts are yoga bars, oats, protein smoothies or maybe even 1 or 2 bananas. These will increase your energy levels before workout and in turn get rid of more fat! After a workout you can have yogurts, protein shakes, fruits, tofu etc. And don't forget, the most important part is to stay hydrated AT ALL TIMES. Drink water before working out, during your workout and definitely after working out.

So, on an ending note I'd just like to say that even though eating healthy is important, it doesn't mean you should stay hungry. NEVER. If you exercise daily then you should also eat properly and to your fill, but don't overeat as that is harmful for your own self. Also, because of dieting and stuff you should not stop eating your local food, as that's the food with which your body is most comfortable. You should try new recipes, get ideas from friends, teach your siblings/family members, maybe even host a cooking party (on zoom guys)!! I myself stink at cooking, but I keep trying (well I try to try 😅), but I'm getting better now. So, adios amigos!! And as rightly said by the playwright Bernard Shaw - "There is no sincere love than the love of food."

My first successful pancake....don't stop trying, see you guys next week😀!!
