An Effective Guide To Exquisite Writing

Most of you must have heard of the common phrase - "The pen is mightier than the sword." The words you speak, the words you read, and the words you write have the power to leave a colossal impact on you; they have the power to make or break your life. Sometimes we struggle to convey what we truly mean. Ideas are formed in our heads, though we never know how to present them confidently and innovatively; in a way that enraptures your audience and leaves them dumbfounded.

That's when you realize the importance of a simple pen and paper...a magnificent place where you can not only take your time and put your ideas into words but also rewrite them again and again and again until you're satisfied. But there's this far-spreading rumor that to truly write something, you need to be a writer. That's not true. All you need is something that you're passionate about, something that you can relate to, and the words will just start flowing out. So here are some tips and tricks to help you write better and make your life a lot simpler.

1) Lay down your points

Every idea, every inspiration has a set of major points that form the essence of it. The only problem is, that all these points are intertwined with each other and are a part of a big confusing mess that you just can't make sense of. So instead of giving up on it altogether, it's better to first organize your points properly so you have everything in one place and are more positive and certain about what your next step should be. This not only gives a set structure to your idea but also helps you to arrange your points accordingly.

2) Prioritize, optimize and popularize

The next step after giving a structure to your speech is to simplify it so that it's easier to understand. Most people think that using big words makes you a better writer...well, that's definitely not true. No one wants to read something and keep checking the dictionary the same time over and over again. The best writers are those who know how to communicate complex ideas through daily-life experiences so that the reader can not only relate to them but also understand their significance. Also sometimes complex ideas can take a lot of explanation and the reader might get bored after a point. So it's always better to cut down the insignificant parts and just focus on the main essence of the topic instead of just dragging on and on. But make sure that you write in such a way that your main idea is properly and thoroughly clear in your reader's mind.

3) Stick to your theme

One of the main aspects of writing is storytelling. When you build a situation for your readers then they tend to get more engrossed in it and hang on to your every word. While building your situation, you need to be careful to stick to your theme because it's easy to get sidetracked. Your main aim should be to captivate the reader for as much time as possible and make sure that they are able to establish a personal relationship with your story which will help them to get a deeper understanding of what you're trying to convey.

There are mainly two important aspects of storytelling- humor, and drama. Using slang, sarcasm and jargon can help you make your write-up more interesting and less monotonous. Also, a touch of drama is always welcome to spice up your writing so that it's more riveting and fascinating for the readers.

4) Explore the unknown

Writing is never about sticking to a particular genre or type...it's about exploring yourself and seeking new adventures by diving deep into the unknown. Write to give yourself strength, to be the characters that you're not...write to explore all the things that you're afraid of. Keep imagining, because if you don't; nothing ever happens at all. And most importantly, give yourself permission to suck; write, delete, rewrite, delete...keep going on until you're satisfied. Liberate your heart and soul from anything that you've been holding back. Only then will you be truly satisfied.

"The funny thing about writing is that whether you're doing well or doing it poorly, it looks the exact same. That's actually one of the main ways that writing is different from ballet dancing." - John Green
